Lighting The lights in the facility were old, inefficient and in need of repair and replacement. New sources of light enabled us to modernize many of the fixtures in the lobby and restrooms. The use of the compact fluorescent bulbs gives a any color of light desired and a long life which assists in cost containment and the effort involved in changing the bulbs. During the cleanup of the storage areas (which was accomplished with a City of Ardmore Inmate Labor Program), we found several of the old fixtures once used in the lobby. These were refinished and retrofitted with new parts for the new bulbs. Not only was this much less expensive than new similar fixtures, it retained the integrity of the original design.
The lights shown are examples of the Art Deco (Art Moderne) period considered by the comittee.
